Y Head Start and Early Head Start in Anne Arundel County offers exceptional programming to pregnant mothers, infants and toddlers, and children ages 3-5 -- all at no cost! We help prepare your entire family for success in school and life.

All children are welcome in our inclusive learning environment, including those with diverse abilities, in foster care, or are experiencing homelessness.

A Y family membership is also included with enrollment so your family can participate in healthy activity and fun at the Y!

TO GET STARTED: Complete the PRE-REGISTRATION APPLICATION to determine eligibility for the Head Start program. A Y Family Service Advocate or Family Development Specialist will reach out to you for more information and/or to complete your enrollment.

Center-based Program

Infants - toddlers up to age 3
8:30am-3pm, Monday-Friday, Year-round program
Small class sizes
Proven curriculum for early learning and development
Individualized learning experiences and social/emotional development
Safe, nurturing environment led by qualified teachers who care about children

Home-based Program

Pregnant women and children up to age 3
Year-round program with individualized learning experiences
Weekly at-home visits by a teacher/family specialist who supports and engages parents through intentional parent-child interactions and educational activities
Prenatal and parenting education
Proven curriculum focusing on early childhood learning and development
Social events with other Y Early Head Start home-based families

Y HEAD START PROGRAM

8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, September-June
