IN-PERSON, LIVE STREAM AND ON-DEMAND CLASSES
Yes! Virtual group exercise is in addition to our already robust offering of in-person group exercise classes. You can continue taking classes in-person and now have the option of also participating virtually from home, if you so choose.
There are two ways to participate: live stream and on-demand.
- Live stream classes are recorded as they take place in real-time at a Y center. Members can login online and participate in the live class from home.
- Once a live stream class is over, the recording is added to our virtual library of on-demand classes. On-demand classes are available at any time.
There are two ways to find virtual classes:
1. (RECOMMENDED): Click the button below to search for classes directly on our virtual platform. Use the filter options on the left side to narrow your search. You will notice the only locations listed are the Dancel, Parkville and Pasadena Ys. Currently, virtual classes are only being streamed from these locations, however, instructors from other Y centers will also teach at these locations to create a mix of instructor-led virtual classes.
2. Virtual classes are also listed on the Dancel, Parkville and Pasadena online schedules (website and mobile app), which any member can see. Classes with “virtual” in the name will be live-streamed. For example, if “Everfit” is on the schedule, this is an in-person class. If “Everfit Virtual” is on the schedule, this is an in-person class that will also be live-streamed. Once the live stream recording is complete, it will become part of our virtual library of on-demand classes.
A variety of exercise classes will be available including yoga; body sculpt; HIIT; Pilates; BODYPUMP; everfit; cardio dance; Zumba; cardio kickboxing; family yoga; and much more! All fitness levels are welcome for each class.
Please Note: Zumba and all Les Mills classes such as BODYPUMP, will only be available through live-streaming due to licensing restrictions.
Yes. All members can access all classes regardless of where they are streamed from.
Currently, virtual classes are being streamed from the Dancel, Parkville and Pasadena Ys. Instructors from other Y centers will also teach at these locations to create a mix of instructor-led virtual classes.
Most of the live stream classes are actual in-person Y classes that take place in our centers however, the camera is solely focused on the instructor. There will also be a few live stream classes each week that will not have in-person participation.
Anywhere from 20 or more classes will be live-streamed each week. Once a class is recorded and added to our virtual on-demand library, it will always be available online at any time. When virtual group exercise is launched on February 22nd, there will be several classes already on-demand. Our virtual library of on-demand classes will continually grow each day.
