Y associate, Stephanie Okonkwo looks to her own childhood as part of the inspiration for her work as a Y Community School Coordinator at Lillie May Carroll Jackson School.
The daughter of a single mother, Stephanie recalls having the privilege of a loving and sheltered childhood with a mom and grandparents who always advocated for her, made sure she knew she was loved and had access to the kind of enriching, well-rounded experiences all children deserve.
