Kim Keating

Chief Human Resources Officer

Kim Keating is the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Y in Central Maryland. In this role, Ms. Keating provides strategic leadership to attract, develop, and retain the best available talent. She is responsible for leading the development and implementation of talent management, leadership development, recruitment and selection, legal compliance related to employment matters, compensation strategy, associate relations, diversity and inclusion, employment practices and procedures, and associate well-being.

Ms. Keating has over 20 years senior human resources management experience. Prior to joining the Y, Kim started a successful consulting firm, Keating Advisors, and worked as a consultant at Mercer Human Resource Consulting and Sibson & Company. Her senior human resources roles include leading the function for the Motley Fool, a financial education company, and the Advisory Board Company, a research think-tank. Preceding her human resources career, Kim was a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley Investment Bank and Chief Financial Officer at Teach for America.

Kim holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, and a B.B.A. in finance from Southern Methodist University.

Kim is a published author and speaks frequently on the topic of talent management, compensation, and negotiation. Kim is currently a board member of LeanIn.Org, whose mission is to encourage women to pursue their ambitions, and NURU International, a nonprofit dedicated to ending global extreme poverty.
