Michelle Becote-Jackson

Chief Strategy Officer

Michelle Becote-Jackson is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Y in Central Maryland. In this role, Mrs. Becote-Jackson provides strategic leadership in defining and advancing the Y’s social responsibility mandate and culture, ensuring fulfillment of the Y’s mission in creating real impact on the community and supporting public policies that further the well-being of the community. Mrs. Becote-Jackson also provides critically needed coordination and support for a wide variety of bold initiatives, including the Y's trauma-informed work, the evolution of healthy living strategies, and developing a perspective on how the Y becomes an even greater force in reducing the level of violence in Baltimore City and beyond. 

Previously, Mrs. Becote-Jackson was Senior Vice President of Youth Development and Social Responsibility for the Y in Central Maryland, overseeing the implementation and operation of all before and after school, community school, and camping programs that enriches the lives of over 10,000 children in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties

Ms. Becote-Jackson has over 20 years senior management experience across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining the Y in 2007, Ms. Becote-Jackson served as Regional Director for Education Station, LLC (formerly a Sylvan Learning Systems Company) where she was responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality after-school tutorial services to over 5,000 students in the Mid-Atlantic Region and the United States Virgin Islands. In this position, Ms. Becote-Jackson managed all aspects of operations and services for various educational programs including No Child Left Behind, Welfare-to-Work, and At-Risk Youth Programs.

Ms. Becote-Jackson serves on the on the board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Baltimore and served as a recent past vice chair for the State of Maryland Juvenile Justice Committee.

A Baltimore native, Ms. Becote-Jackson earned a B.A. in Computer Science and Business from Goucher College and an M.S. in Business from Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, she received a Certificate of Completion from Johns Hopkins University’s inaugural Leadership Development Program.

Ms. Becote-Jackson resides in Owings Mills, MD with her husband, John, and daughters, Kennedy and Madison.
