The dog days of summer are here, but the fun with Y on the Fly hasn’t stopped!
Last week, we visited Furman L. Templeton Elementary and Joseph Lee Recreation Center on Tuesday for parachute games and a neighborhood game of soccer. On Wednesday, Y on the Fly dodged rain drops at Harwood Park and McKim Community Association for a rousing game of tug-of-war. On Thursday the teachers and counselors at Highland Town played a round of sharks and minnows, followed by a game of ultimate frisbee at Children’s Peace Center.
We wrapped up the week with a game of Treasure Hunters at GreenMount West Community Center on Friday and a visit to the 29th Street Community Center for its Annual Health Fair. At the health fair, visitors participated in double dutch and jump rope, and our young chefs got to share their recipe of the week – dill dip!
