Stories of Courage and Change: Tiny Steps Making a Big Difference

Graham all bundled up celebrating his big victory!

With a love of dinosaurs and trains, Graham may seem like a regular 4.5-year-old. But here’s the thing…he’s not.

On Thanksgiving morning, Graham ran in his first Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K! Yes, you read that right! With the support of Mom (Christina), Dad (Chris) and Dog (Puck), Graham trained his little heart out for weeks preparing for the Ellicott City course!

When asked what motivated him to get involved, Graham says he wanted to see if he could finish the race but was mostly motivated by charity.

Was he ever! In addition to finishing the race, Graham raised a whopping $1,038 to benefit children and adults throughout central Maryland who need help affording Y programs that keep them safe, engaged and healthy.

Graham’s inspiring commitment to community appears to be something that runs in the family. Literally. Both Christina and Chris ran alongside Graham on the day cheering him on. As well as that, Chris’ company, Bolton (an employee benefits consulting firm) sponsored the event!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Graham for his big heart and boundless energy!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the over 15,000 participants, sponsors, volunteers and donors who came together Thanksgiving morning to make a difference in the lives of so many vulnerable children and adults in our community!
