Earlier in the year, the pair participated in Bowl for Kids’ Sake, a fun one-day bowling event that raises funds for Big Brother

Having been mentored when she was a young girl, Rachel knew that Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y was something she wanted to be a part of.

“Big” Rachel has now been partnered with her “Little,” 8-year-old Mackenzie, for over a year and it’s safe to say they get along excellently.

From petting a Great Dane for the first time to tasting sushi, Rachel likes to expose Mackenzie to new experiences.

“It has been so satisfying watching Mackenzie get more comfortable, try different things and open up. I enjoy seeing her happy.”

As well as organizing their own “days out” together, Rachel and Mackenzie also have fun attending the group activities that Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y facilitates. Earlier this year, they attended a Raven’s training session and the “Littles” got signatures from the players!
