Monday Mission Update: Building Community

December 16, 2019

"Everything is amazing. From the curriculum and how the children are taught, down to the way the children all get along. It's all a great experience. And the benefits of the program are a plus as well."

"Great day. Great event. Great cause"

"I have found my community!"

While I never kid myself that wonderfully positive comments like those above from our Listen 360 survey tool are the sum total of how people feel about the Y’s programs and services, they fuel and affirm my sense that our work is meeting both tangible and intangible needs that exist across our community.

We recently commissioned a short film about our work called "Building Community," which is meant to encapsulate and celebrate the impact we are having on so many people in diverse and important ways. Other, briefer versions are also being completed and will be shared, in many formats, to help each of us tell the entirety of the Y story.

In the meantime, I invite you to take a look and let us know what you think. It's a great way to start your week and reinforces the fact that the Y is not really a dizzying collection of programs and services (although it kind of feels that way sometimes) but a powerful force building and binding together our increasingly fractured community.

Enjoy it. As volunteers, associates and supporters of the Y, this is your story and your legacy!

The Y: Building Community

All the best,
