Monday Mission Update - 2022.01.10

I think I'll keep today's Monday Mission Update as short and sweet as possible. January 2022 hasn't exactly started as we'd all hoped. While the cold and the snow is part and parcel of this month, the resurgence of the COVID virus wasn't exactly how we'd all hoped to start the year.

Well, as a wise man (or woman, I don't really know who said it first) once said, it is what it is! So, we're all dealing with it and hoping for better days ahead.

Y members, who have had to ride the ups and downs of COVID, with mask mandates by local municipalities starting, then stopping and then starting again, and all sorts of other turns in the road that have affected their ability to engage in the Y like they are accustomed to, have generally taken most of this in stride as they focus on what matters – their health, their family and their community. Certainly, that's what is being expressed and felt in the comment we recently received from Jimmy G., a member of the Walter and Betty Ward Y in Abingdon:

"The Ward Y in Abingdon is more than a place to exercise. IT IS A FAMILY. The love, friendship, and support is exceptional!"

Thank you, Jimmy, and thanks to all of the Y's members for giving us the opportunity to participate in such a worthy endeavor together, for a better you, a better community, a better us.

All the best,

John
