Exceptional Early Learning and Family Support
Y Head Start and Early Head Start in Baltimore County offers exceptional programming to expectant families, infants and toddlers, and children ages 3-5 -- all at no cost! We prepare young children and their families for success in school and life. All children are welcome in our safe, nurturing learning environment.
A Y family membership is included with enrollment so families can stay active, build strength, enjoy healthy family fun, and connect with others at the Y! The membership continues annually at no cost, even during school holidays and the summer.

Y EARLY HEAD START
Y Early Head Start offers a home-based or center-based program for expectant families, infants, and toddlers up to age 3, that focuses on healthy child and family development and prepares children in all developmental areas for transition into Y Head Start preschool.
Home-based Program

- Weekly, at-home, 90-minute visits by a qualified teacher/family specialist
- Intentional parent-child interactions and educational activities
- On-site IEP services
- Proven curriculum focusing on developmentally appropriate learning activities
- Regular social activities with other Y Early Head Start families
Center-based Program
- Infants and toddlers up to age 3
- Year-round program, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3pm
- Small class sizes and highly qualified teachers
- Individualized and group learning experiences
- On-site IEP services
- Proven curriculum focusing on developmentally appropriate learning activities
- Nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack
- Social/emotional learning and development
Y HEAD START PRESCHOOL
Y Head Start preschool serves children ages 3-5 with an intentional focus to develop school-readiness skills as recommended and measured by the Maryland State Department of Education.

- Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, September-June
- Small class sizes and highly qualified teachers
- Proven curriculum focused on school readiness
