Community Swim Safety
- Youth ages 17 & under must take a swim test. After the test, a red, yellow, or green color swim band will be issued which indicates the area of the pool you can swim in and what level of adult supervision is required. Adults age 18 & older may be asked to participate in a swim test.
- If a red band is issued, you must stay in the shallow end of the pool with proper supervision.
Red Band Supervision:
- Children age 7 & under must have an actively engaged parent/guardian in the water within arm's reach.
- Children ages 8-12 must have an actively engaged parent/guardian in the water within arm's reach and (the adult) must be in water below armpit level, OR the child must wear an approved personal flotation device, and be directly supervised by a parent/guardian on the pool deck.
- Teens ages 13-17 do not require an adult in the water if the teen wears an approved personal floatation device. Otherwise, an actively engaged parent/guardian must be in the water within arm's reach and in water below armpit level.

- A swim diaper is required for anyone who is not toilet trained.
- During inclement weather, our pool and pool deck closes for thunder and lightning until 30 minutes after the last occurrence. This policy is enacted if thunder and lightning is detected within six miles of our indoor pools.
