The good work you do doesn't go unnoticed. Enjoy reading these real comments from our Y community and soak in the praise!
Logan, Y Before & After School Enrichment
“My son tested positive for COVID this winter and the Y team reached out to me, sent a letter with clear expectations of when he could return and even refunded us for the time he wasn't able to be there. I really appreciated the transparency and timely feedback. I also can't speak highly enough about the associates. They are considerate, know my kid and love him as if he were their own."
Isaac, Y Camp Spencer
“My son loves Camp Spencer. He makes friends every summer and has great things to say about the counselors and activities."
Da'shawn, The Orokawa Y in Towson

OUR WORK TOGETHER
Dear Colleagues,
Because the past two years have seemingly been an endless barrage of news that’s either bad or really bad, it’s understandable that good news is lost in this environment. Since peaking near 30% in January, Maryland’s COVID positivity rate has declined by almost 90% to 3.37%, which is currently the lowest positivity rate in the country! The focus on vaccinations, boosters, masks, testing and other public health measures has paid off and is helping us return to the kind of everyday life we all long for.
We see growing public confidence in very strong camp registration numbers, in high levels of use of our Y family centers and in steadily rising enrollment numbers across nearly every aspect of our operation. Despite a slower than expected start to the year, membership sales are beginning to gain some tractiion and consumer interest (as evidenced by the digital data we track) is remarkably strong. My view is that everyone is moving along at their own pace in re-engaging in their community and returning to the things that matter most to them. Stacking day upon day of positive public health numbers should ultimately lead us to a more normalized Y operational and financial picture.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your steadfast focus on keeping our community safe, engaged and active throughout this entire challenging period. Given our scope and scale, it’s clear to me that Y associates have played a large role in both the state’s incredible public health progress and in keeping our community on solid emotional ground throughout this unprecedented crisis. It will not be charted in fancy graphs or reported in the public health data, but I am 100% positive that your determination to serve, support and nurture our community throughout this long ordeal has and will continue to contribute to our community’s and our Y’s emotional, social and economic recovery.
None of us can see exactly what the future holds, but the signs are all very positive right now. Call me an optimist.
All the best,

John Hoey
