Healthy Living Is for All Ages
Youth and teens ages eight and up may use the fitness center with proper training and supervision, provided they fit the equipment properly:
- Must be at least 4'4" tall to use the treadmills and rower machines
- Must be at least 4'10" tall to use all other cardio equipment
Before using the equipment, ages 8-15 must complete one or more Y classes to learn fitness center etiquette and how to use cardio, strength and/or free weight equipment safely. A color-coded wristband will be distributed after the successful completion a class, indicating which area of the fitness center you may use. The wristband must be worn at all times when in the fitness center.
Please contact your Y family center to sign up for a class below. All classes are included in Y membership.
KIDS CARDIO
Youth ages 8-12 are invited to take our Kids Cardio class (one 30-minute class) to learn the proper use of cardio equipment and fitness center etiquette and safety. When using the fitness center, youth must be supervised accordingly by a parent/guardian:
- Ages 8-9 must be directly supervised by an adult who is on the fitness floor with them
- Ages 10-12 must have an adult remain in the Y family center
TEEN QUEST
Teens age 13-15 are invited to take our Teen Quest class (two 1-hour classes) to learn proper use of cardio and strength equipment (excluding free weights) and fitness center etiquette and safety.
TEEN QUEST 2.0
Teens age 13-15 are invited to take our Teen Quest 2.0 class to learn free weight etiquette and how to use free weight equipment properly.
