A Thanksgiving Maryland Family Tradition!
For more than 20 years, families have gathered on Thanksgiving morning for the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K—a fun, healthy tradition that brings together 16,000 runners, 150 sponsors and 600 volunteers each year. Participants also donate thousands of canned goods which are distributed through Y community food pantries.
Annually, the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K raises close to a million dollars through registrations and sponsorships which provide financial help so families experiencing hardship. These funds connect families to healthy community life, enabling participation in safe, educational and healthy opportunities such as preschool, camp, after school programs, and membership at the Y.
