Letta Simon
SVP, Early Childhood Development
Letta Simon is responsible for the effectiveness and success of the Y in Central Maryland’s Head Start and Preschool strategy and operations. She also provides strategic and thought leadership for all of the Y’s programming for children ages zero to five and represents the Y in Central Maryland in a wide range of local, regional and national forums as its “face and voice” of early childhood development.
Letta has an impressive career in early childhood, education and youth development, with significant strategic, operational and new business development experience in a wide range of settings. She has served in various leadership positions, most notably as the President and COO of Brightside Academy, where she led the expansion and operations of Head Start into three states, serving over 1900 children, in addition to providing leadership for 67 preschool/school age academies serving over 8,000 children daily. Letta’s other leadership roles have included Vice President at Fresenius Medical Care, as well as director of Business Development for Laureate Education. A Baltimore native, Letta has a bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University.
