Troy S. Weaver

Vice President of Health & Wellness


Troy S. Weaver is the Vice President of Health & Wellness for the Y of Central Maryland. He is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of Y programs including aquatics and all health and wellness services. He also oversees member services and facility maintenance.

Serving in this capacity, Weaver is tasked with developing structures, systems and procedures that ensures all Y of Central Maryland members and participants receive a consistent and enriching experience throughout the association when it comes to their health and wellness needs. Additionally, he is charged with creating replicable innovations that position the Y as a leader in the health and wellness field.

Previously, Weaver was the Executive Director of the Howard County Center for three years and served as the Associate Executive Director there for four years prior. In his three years as Executive he celebrated many successes, most notably the $11 million renovation and 30,000 foot expansion of the Ellicott City Center. Weaver has been credited with researching and recommending the purchase of the Fitlinxx computerized personal training system; a system which by 2005 was in place at all health & wellness centers within the Y of Central Maryland. Additionally, he implemented the Y of the USA training guidelines in the areas of fitness, aquatics and membership.

Weaver came up through the Y by way of fitness. His Y career started in 1991, and he hs worked in six communities in the East and Midwest. He has held various positions as a Fitness or Program Director. He holds numerous certifications in the areas of fitness, aquatics and membership, and has attained his Y Senior Program Director certification. He has been a trainer for the Y of the USA since 1994 and leads national trainings for Associations along the East Coast in personal training, life guarding and member services. 

Weaver studied a dual major at the Lock Haven University in Loch Haven, PA.  He received a B.S. in Recreation – Fitness Management and Health and Physical Education. He has competed and faired well in nearly 100 racing events that not only test his physical conditioning, but his mental toughness as well.  He participates in an average of seven triathlons a year, including at least one Ironman-distance Triathlon.
