
Vice President of Child Care & Family Services
Christine Ader Soto is the Vice President of Child Care & Family Services for the Y of Central Maryland. She has held this role since 1994, and is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of Y programs including school-age child care, preschool programs, urban services, and Head Start.
Chris is tasked with developing structures, systems and procedures that will allow for consistent child care and family service experiences throughout the association. Already the largest provider of child care in the state of Maryland, Ader Soto will ensure Y programs continue to meet the demands of the communities we serve, while preserving and building upon the level of quality our patrons have come to expect.
She is responsible for quality assurance and technical support for 85 child care centers serving 4,500 children throughout Central Maryland. She supervises two Head Start programs, one in Baltimore County and a Delegate Agency in Baltimore City. Additionally, she is responsible for implementing the Y Strong Communities Agenda in Baltimore City where the Y currently serves 2,000 youth in 19 of the city’s most troubled communities.
Chris works diligently in identifying and writing numerous grants to support child care and youth initiatives and has secured well over 75 million dollars. She has also been the Association’s coordinator of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast, the largest single celebration of Dr. King’s legacy in the Baltimore area.
Ader Soto has worn many hats within the Central Maryland Association. Prior to her current position, she was the Director of Family Services for the Harford County Center where she was responsible for the development, implementation and quality assurance of preschool and school-age child care services throughout Harford County. She was formerly the Director of Child Care and Family Services for the Towson Center as well.
Throughout her career, Ader Soto has participated in several advisory boards, committees and task forces including the Lt. Governor’s After School Task Force and the Maryland Committee for Children. She also served as a Y of the USA East Field Child Care Specialist.
