Summer at the Y: more choices, more fun, more value and still affordable!
Summer at the Y means a summer of fun! It's a time for children to grow, make new friends and learn lessons that last a lifetime! The Y is the leader in summertime fun where children get to bask in the sheer joys that define a child's summer at its best: getting wet, playing hard, being silly, making new friends, tackling new and challenging skills, learning and growing all along the way.
In Y summer sports & aquatic clinics, we’re not looking for the next David Beckham or Michael Phelps. We’re looking for everyday children who want to have fun learning the basic fundamentals of sports, make a splash in the water, and build strong character along the way!
Summer Sport Clinics
Y summer sports clinics focus on skill development, game play, drills, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and having FUN! Principles like everyone plays, positive competition, safety first, and fair play are the foundation of the program. Players are grouped by age and ability. Y coaches help players recognize their talents and the importance of being active. Ultimately, our goal is to help prepare children for the next level of sports and more importantly, that their character is just as strong, if not stronger, than their game!
Summer Aquatic Clinics
Y summer aquatic clinics are designed to give children within moderate to advanced swim levels a fun, water experience while gaining worthwhile knowledge about swimming and safety. Clinics consist of water sports and games, skill development like strokes, flip turns, and rotary breathing, minimal swim instruction, and water safety education. Children also participate in fun pool deck activities. By the end of the clinic, your child will feel like a water expert! Please note – this is not a swim instruction program; participants should be able to swim 50 yards continuously.
Clinics are offered in half-day morning or afternoon weekly sessions. Some full-day clinics are also available. Plus, you have the option of customizing your own full-day clinic by signing up for a half-day morning session and a half-day afternoon session! Clinics vary by location and are subject to change.
