Join us for a deeper look at the impact of the Y of Central Maryland on individuals and communities through a tour of some of its programs and services.  Meet the dedicated staff and volunteers who change lives daily and the youth, individuals, and families who share in and benefit from the Y.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: A Series of Community Events
Youth Creative Interpretation Display
January 2010
Displayed at Y Locations
 

Children in all Y Journeys for Children and Youth programs will study Dr. King and learn how he influenced our country's history.  Their creative examples and interpretation of his work will be displayed in all Family Center Y's, preschools, and before and after school enrichment locations during January.  Click here for more information about Y locations. 

All are invited and encouraged to share in this celebration and tribute to Dr. King.  We hope you will visit a Y location the week of January 18th to view the children's art.  Click here to learn more about this Series of Community Events.

Join us for a celebration of healthy children!  Thanks to our caring and committed partners, we are celebrating major advancements in our work to help keep children healthy in spirit, mind and body. 

Join us for this free event as we celebrate: 

   Major progress in the fight against childhood obesity, thanks to a partnership between the Y of Central Maryland, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and Healthways
   Expansion of Fit ‘N Fun, our childhood obesity program, to Perry Hall Middle School
   A $1 million dollar grant to bring Early Head Start to infants, toddlers and their families in Baltimore County 

County Executive Jim Smith and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield CEO Chet Burrell will be on hand to help us celebrate as will children of Perry Hall Middle School who have an exciting demonstration to share!  Refreshments will be served.

Service Project to Revitalize the Druid Hill Family Center Y

In late April, the Y will host a service project to revitalize the Druid Hill Family Center Y in Eastern Baltimore City to help improve resources to the families of the Druid Hill/Upton Community.  All are invited to join us for this volunteer revitalization effort.  More details to come.
