A community resource since 1853, the Y of Central Maryland is one of the largest human service providers in Maryland and is dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Family health & wellness programs, camps, youth and adult sports and child care are delivered through its seven health and wellness centers, and more than 100 program locations throughout Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties. The Y is the largest private provider of child care in Maryland as well as the largest provider of Head Start.

Y of Central Maryland is currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated physical education professionals, to supervise youth fitness programs which are currently available at our Towson Center, Howard County Center and Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Center at Stadium Place. In this position you will lead childcare obesity prevention programs and other wellness programs and initiatives. Provides oversight and quality control for the consistent implementation of quality health and fitness programs throughout the Y of Central Maryland including program delivery, customer satisfaction, retention and training; Part time work week, Monday – Friday; 9:00am – 12:pm hours/wk;

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in PE or related field and or equivalent experience preferred; plus minimum of one (1) year of experience working with and /or coaching youth fitness; and working with people of varying ages and backgrounds; Must have the ability to lead and motivate children to adopt a healthy lifestyle; Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
