Sport Instructors – Part Time positions

A community resource since 1853, the Y of Central Maryland is one of the largest human service providers in Maryland and is dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Family health & wellness programs, camps, youth and adult sports and child care are delivered through its seven health and wellness centers, and more than 100 program locations throughout Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties. The Y is the largest private provider of child care in Maryland as well as the largest provider of Head Start.

Y of Central Maryland is currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated physical education professionals, to be Sport Instructors for our Anne Arundel, Towson, White Marsh, Harford and Howard County Centers. In this position you will teach beginner sports league classes that include soccer, basketball, baseball, football, lacrosse and floor hockey throughout the week; Provides oversight and quality control for the consistent implementation of sports programs throughout the Y of Central Maryland including program delivery, customer satisfaction, retention and training; Flexible part time work hours; Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available. In addition, our Towson Center has 15-20 hours available on weekends.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in PE or related field preferred plus minimum of? 2 years of experience working with and /or coaching youth sports; and working with people of? varying ages and backgrounds; Must have the ability to teach and demonstrate a variety of sports activities; Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
