Custodians, Part -Time positions

Family health & wellness programs, camps, youth and adult sports and child care are delivered through its seven health and wellness centers, and more than 100 program locations throughout Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore , Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties . The Y is the largest private provider of child care in Maryland as well as the largest provider of Head Start.
Y of Central Maryland is seeking dedicated and thorough Custodians to work part - time; Evening Hours available; Monday through Friday at our Ellicott City Center. In the position you will perform routine janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness of the facilities.
Evening Hours 4pm -8pm
Description
1. Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, stall partitions, restrooms, kitchen, storage room, and other assigned areas of building.
2. Cleans and maintains floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces. Including: sweep & mop floors, vacuum carpets, and spot clean carpets.
3. Empty waste containers; Disposes of trash; Clean and sanitize trashcans.
4. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
5. Performs various duties such as dusting, and maintaining entrances and offices.
6. Reports building problems. Reports supply stock problems. Order supplies and stocks.
7. Assists the maintenance supervisor with facility repairs as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Six months or more of related experience preferred.
2. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
3. Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions.
4. Ability to stay alert to potential safety and security problems.
5. Ability to carry out instructions independently.
6. Ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds.
