Volunteer Opportunities

The Y is a charitable mission-driven organization dedicated to social responsibility and community building. Volunteers are critical to this mission and central to all we do. There are many ways a volunteer can get involved with the Y.

Community Advisory Boards

Each community we serve is supported by a volunteer advisory board known as a Community Advisory Boards (CAB). CAB members' primary responsibility is to raise funds to support scholarships that allow children and adults in their neighborhood, enjoy Y programs they otherwise could not afford. CABs work together to create various fundraising events which accomplish this.

Program Volunteer

Y volunteers can also get involved in other ways. You may put your talents to work as a mentor to an at-risk child, volunteer to coach a sports team or help out in a variety of other ways, depending on your time and interests.

Special Event Volunteer

Volunteers may also get involved in big group projects such as planting a community garden or helping to revitalize one of our family centers or child care sites. In 2010, a group of volunteers participated in the very successful revitalization of our historic Druid Hill Family Center Y in Baltimore City.

Corporate Volunteer

Corporate volunteer activities are also available and can be tailored to meet the interests of the group.
